Academic Advising for Science and Math Students
The CNSM Academic Advising Center serves the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (CNSM) and is committed to helping students graduate in a timely manner with a highly-valued degree from California State University Long Beach. This is accomplished through providing excellent academic advising and support services, while partnering with CNSM students to identify and achieve their educational and career goals.
Need Advising Help?
Each student in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics has an assigned academic advisor. This assignment is based on whether you are fully declared or a pre-major, and your particular major within CNSM. If you are a pre-major then contact your pre-major advisor; otherwise please contact your major advisor.
If you are a freshmen or sophomore with under 50 earned units, please see Declaring a Major for instructions on how to change your pre-major.
If you are fully declared in your major, please contact the relevant major advisor.
Please contact the respective CNSM major advisor.
Please contact University Outreach and School Relations if you are wanting information on The Beach. Outreach is available to help you make an informed decision about your college choice.
If you have already applied, then please contact Enrollment Services for all your application questions as the CNSM Academic Advising Center is unable to answer these questions.
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) laws prohibit advisors from discussing with a parent their adult student's academics without written consent from their student. For general questions, please email the CNSM Academic Advising Center at CNSM-Advising@csulb.edu.
Please email the CNSM Academic Advising Center at CNSM-Advising@csulb.edu. Note that we are unable to answer admissions questions. Please direct admissions inquiries to Enrollment Services.
The CNSM Academic Advising Center does not advise graduate students. Graduate students should meet with their department's graduate advisor for advising.
