CSULB Degree Requirements

The following requirements apply to all undergraduate degrees for California State University, Long Beach.

GPA Requirements

CSULB uses three different grade point averages (GPAs) to evaluate a student's academic progress. In order to graduate, all three GPAs must be above a 2.0. In addition to overall GPA requirements, a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 in all major courses is required for graduation.

• Overall GPA - includes all coursework including transferable courses from other institutions
• CSULB GPA - includes all coursework completed solely at CSULB
• Major Cumulative GPA - includes all coursework for the major including transferable coursework from other institutions

The Overall GPA and CSULB GPA must remain above a 2.0 to avoid academic warning. See Academic Standing and Appeals from Student Records for more information on academic warning.
