This Indenture tripartite made this
twentyfourth day of September Anno Domini one thousand seven
hundred and seventy one, in the eleventh year of his Majestys Reign.
Between Ralph Inman of Cambridge in the County of Middlesex Esqr.
of the first part, Elizabeth Smith of Milton in the County of Suffolk
Relict Widow of James Smith late of said Milton Merchant deceased on
the second part and Ezekiel Goldthwait of boston in said County of
Suffolk Esqr. and John Innes Clark of Providence in the County of Providence and Colony of Rhode Island and providence plantations Merchant as Trustees for the said Elizabeth Smith on the third part. Whereas a Marriage by Gods permission is intended shortly to be had and solemnized between the said Ralph Inman and Elizabeth Smith and the said Elizabeth being seized in her own absolutely right of a very considerable Estate both real and personal, the greatest part whereof was given and bequeathed to her by her late husband the said James Smith deceased in and by his last will and Testament, she the said Elizabeth is desirous to reserve to herself the whole therefore excepting the income, interest and profits of the same during such time as they shall continue to live together, which the said Ralph is to receive and apply to his own use, paying out of said Income Interest and profits the sum of Two hundred pounds sterling yearly and every year in the same proportion for part of a year unto the said Ezekiel Goldthwait and John Innes Clark Trustees as aforesd. or either of them during such time as said Ralph and Elizabeth shall live together to and for the separate use and benefit of said Elizabeth Smith and in case said Marriage therefore takes place, certain Marriage
Articles and Covenants are agreed upon by and between the parties – 
aforenamed as follows vizt. – And the said Ralph Inman for him
self his heirs Exors and Admors doth hereby Covenant grant and agree
to and with the said Ezekiel Goldthwait and John Innes Clark Trustees
