Tutoring, conversation practice and other language related support is available for ASL, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.
The Center strives to be a welcoming space to practice listening and speaking your new language. You can practice with classmates, other students studying your target language, native speakers, or our language tutors. While the Center is not able to provide quite study areas we do have many areas available for small group discussion and collaborative learning. Your campus group is also welcome to reserve one of our lab spaces for meetings or activities.
The Language Center has several spaces designed for collaborative teaching and learning. Room 305 is a computer lab and discussion space containing 25 student computing stations. Room 306 is a flexible space partitioned by a sliding wall providing workspaces accommodating 20-45 students. The small group discussion area in Room 306C can be reserved for group discussion, oral practice, or as an open interview space. The video conferencing space in Room 316 seats up to 12 people. It is ideal for video conferencing, discussion groups, small classes and student clubs.
