THE BRENT C. DICKERSON SHEET MUSIC COLLECTION

We list this modest collection chronologically by year. Within each year, composers are listed alphabetically, with titles under each composer also listed alphabetically. This is a collection very much in performance use; the materials have the usual edge wear, tears, and vicissitudes of sheet music; and the music displays this condition proudly as evidence of fulfilling its intended function. As an aid to understanding the perceptions of the decades with which we are concerned, we sprinkle through the list some details from the sheet music covers mentioned. Please do not be offended by any terms, images, or references deriving from the usage and mind-set of a less careful era; one might reflect that our own ethos will similarly be looked upon with incredulous disdain by ever-censorious futurity. This listing is "under construction," and is being compiled in chronological order (the final entry will be of a piece from 1975); we request your patience as we complete and augment it.
