Heads Up – New E-mail System

Exchange 2010 Outlook logoFollowing a thorough review process, a new e-mail system was selected and is currently being rolled out to CSULB faculty and staff. Microsoft Exchange 2010 will become the single e-mail and calendar system for campus employees. After the employee migration is completed in spring 2012, CSULB emeriti e-mail accounts will be migrated to this new system, along with existing messages and folders.

Emeriti who currently use an @csulb.edu account will access the new system beginning in summer 2012. All contacts, existing e-mails and folders will be migrated to the new e-mail system. Emeriti will receive new email addresses. Be assured that e-mail sent to the old e-mail account will continue to arrive in the new e-mail account indefinitely.

To ensure a smooth transition, emeriti will have access to training tutorials, self-help guides and brief videos.

The new e-mail system provides robust e-mail functionality and ample e-mail storage. The system also fulfills critical university requirements, including:

  • Security safeguards
  • Anti-spam filtering capabilities
  • Access for individuals with disabilities
  • Alignment with the campus’ technical infrastructure

More information and updates will be provided over the next several months.
