Time Marches On

Published: March 6, 2017

On Sunday, March 12—that’s when Daylight Saving Time begins—it’s recommended you turn all your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed Saturday night. That means you lose an hour. Sorry.

For future reference, Daylight Saving Time begins each year at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday of March, so that’s when you move clocks ahead one hour.

Standard Time begins each year at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday of November when you move clocks back one hour. Ah, more sleep.

In 2017, Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday, Nov. 5. That’s when you get to turn your clocks back.

If you like to plan way ahead, the Daylight Saving Time start/end dates in 2018 are March 11 and Nov. 4, and in 2019 the dates are March 10 and Nov. 3.
