Jewels Of The Night On April 30

On Saturday, April 30, The Walter Pyramid will hold the 22nd annual Jewels of the Night festivities. Hosted by the Beach Athletic Club, the fundraising division within the Long Beach State Athletics Department, this is the marquee event for generating revenue to support the more than 350 student-athletes in their quest to realize both their academic and athletic ambitions.

The Jewels of the Night committee, headed by Sofia Riley and Matt Peterson, has set the highest expectations yet. Both huge Long Beach State Athletics supporters, they have continued to grow a team whose solid foundation is built via representation from the essential areas of Long Beach and its greater community. Drawing from the Long Beach community, a base of strong local alumni, and numerous faculty, staff and coaches, the committee is a diverse group of individuals providing valuable knowledge, leadership and experience. There will be an array of unique auction items up for bid to go along with a wide variety of food from local eateries and enjoyable live entertainment.

Reservations can be made in advance on the Jewels of the Night website. On the day of the event, doors will open at 5 p.m. and the festivities will continue until 10 p.m.

More than 25 of Long Beach’s most popular restaurants will be on hand to serve some of their famous dishes in an energetic and classy setting, complete with wine tastings, craft beer and a hosted bar. Several restaurants scheduled to be in attendance include Parker’s Lighthouse, Hof’s Hut, TGIS Catering, Naples Rib Company, Polly’s Gourmet Coffee, The Boathouse, Rossmoor Pastries, Playa Amore, The Attic, La Strada, The Auld Dubliner Irish Pub and Restaurant and Legends Sports Bar.

In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase some once-in-a-lifetime items and experiences during the evening. Auction items include meet-and-greets with former Dirtbags and current Major League Baseball stars, and trips to memorable destinations around the world.

Additional prizes available at the event will be available through an opportunity drawing. Some potential prizes for this drawing include $500 worth of Gold Coins, a his and her FitBit package, a fully stocked kegorator,

Early bird pricing for the event through March 18 is VIP seat, $175; general seat, $125; VIP table, $1,750; and general table, $1,250. After March 18 the cost will be: VIP seat, $200; general seat, $150; VIP table, $2,000; and general table, $1,500. There is also a celebrity lounge option for $2,500, which includes a lounge for eight plus room for one Long Beach celebrity of your choosing and their guest or individuals can opt out of the celebrity and choose to bring 10 guests total instead.
