The Language Center is maintained by the College of Liberal Arts, which is the largest college on campus.
Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Tagalog, Vietnamese and Cambodian are housed in Asian & Asian American Studies. AAAS offers Bachelor's Degrees in Chinese Studies, Japanese, a Teaching Credential in Japanese, and an MA in Asian Studies with options in language pedagogy.
American Sign Language and Deaf Cultures offers Bachelor's degrees in two areas: ASL Linguistics and Deaf Cultures, and an Option in ASL-English Interpreting.
Arabic, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish are all housed in the department of Romance, German, Russian Languages & Literatures. RGRLL offers four B.A. programs in French, German, Italian Studies, and Spanish. Minors are also available in all of those areas, as well as in Russian.
The World Languages: Languages Other Than English, LOTE, teaching credential enables you to teach elementary, middle school, and high school world language classes in California public schools.
