CSULB Students Enrolling at Other Institutions
CSULB students who want to attend classes at another institution can pick up and submit completed request forms at Enrollment Services (BH-101), or download the Concurrent and Visitor Enrollment Form. For best results, discuss your plans with your academic advisor well in advance of the submission deadlines.
Visitor Enrollment (CSULB students enrolling at another CSU)
Students who have completed one Fall or Spring semester at CSULB and are
in good academic standing may be eligible to visit one of our 22 CSU sister campuses
for one term of academic work. You must meet the following requirements
and conditions in order to participate in this program:
Undergraduate Student Requirements
- Completed at least 12 units at CSULB.
- Have a GPA of at least 2.0 in all work completed at CSULB.
- Be in good academic standing.
Graduate Student Requirements
- Completed one semester at CSULB.
- Have a GPA of at least 3.0 in all work completed at CSULB.
- Be in good academic standing.
Conditions for Enrollment
- Students will be approved for Visitor Enrollment for one term only.
- Approval is subject to space availability, registration priority policies
and deadlines of the host campus.
- Academic advisement is available only through CSULB.
- Overlap in academic terms may not be possible. Check with the host campus.
- Students may be required to provide proof of completion of prerequisites.
- Financial Aid is available only through CSULB.
The Concurrent and Visitor Enrollment Form is available for download or may be picked up at Enrollment Services (BH-101). If your request is approved, and after you have paid fees, you may submit your form to the host campus. Contact the campus you wish to attend for registration deadlines and procedures.
Concurrent Enrollment (CSULB students enrolling at another CSU)

CSU Fully Online Program (CSULB students enrolling in online courses)
The CSU Fully Online program is open to full-time continuing CSULB students. The goal is to expand the availability of online courses to address student demand for courses that lead towards timely graduation. The program provides an opportunity for full-time continuing CSULB students to enroll in one online course per term offered by another CSU campus. Students must meet the following requirements and conditions in order to participate in this program:
Undergraduate Student Requirements
- Completed at least 12 units at CSULB.
- Have a GPA of at least 2.0 in all work completed at CSULB.
- Be in good academic standing.
Graduate Student Requirements
- Completed at least one semester at CSULB.
- Have a GPA of at least 3.0 in all work completed at CSULB.
- Be in good academic standing.

Credit earned at the CSU campus offering the online course is automatically reported to CSULB and included on your transcript. For course information see the CSU Fully Online Courses website.
Cross Enrollment (CSULB students enrolling at a University of California campus or California Community College)
If you are a California resident currently enrolled at CSULB, you may enroll
in one undergraduate course per academic term at a participating University of
California campus or California Community College.
You must meet the necessary course prerequisites and obtain approval from both CSULB and the campus you plan to attend. In addition, you must:
- have completed 12 units at CSULB.
- have maintained a 2.0 GPA in all work completed.
- be in good academic standing.
- be enrolled in at least 6 units at CSULB for the term in which you plan
to cross enroll.
- have paid the appropriate fees at CSULB for the term in which you plan to
cross enroll.
- be an undergraduate student.
The host campus will charge a $10 fee plus any material and laboratory fees associated with the class in which you cross enroll. Use of the host campus' facilities may be restricted; health services are limited to emergencies only. Contact the campus you wish to attend for registration deadlines and procedures.
Enrolling at CSULB
From Other Institutions
Check with your home campus for their eligibility requirements and procedures.
Visitor and Concurrent
Enrollment (Non-CSULB students)
- Students must have attained at least junior standing at their home CSU campus
and will only be considered for available upper division courses.
- Approval is subject to space availability, CSULB registration priority policies
and CSULB deadlines.
- Academic advisement is available only through the home campus.
- Overlap in academic terms may not be possible.
- Students will be required to provide proof of completion of prerequisites
to the academic department of the course requested.
- Financial Aid is available only through the home campus.
In addition to meeting the above conditions, students must satisfy the following
CSU criteria at their home campus:
- Have earned at least 12 units.
- Have a 2.0 GPA.
- Be in good academic standing.
- Be eligible to register under continuing student status.
- Have paid fees (Concurrent students only).
Concurrent Enrollment is allowed for more than one term, however, students must submit a new Concurrent and Visitor Enrollment Form for each term of concurrent enrollment. Approval for Visitor enrollment is valid for one term only.
The Concurrent and Visitor Enrollment Form must be certified by the home campus and submitted to Enrollment Services (BH 101) by the following deadlines:
- Spring Semester Enrollment: The prior November 1
- Fall Semester Enrollment: The prior June 1
CSU Fully Online Program (Non-CSULB students)
The California State University (CSU) system offers matriculated students the ability to enroll in online courses at other CSUs (including CSU Long Beach) through the CSU Fully Online Program. Please refer to CSU Fully Online Courses for details.
Cross Enrollment
(Non-CSULB students)
CSULB is not currently accepting students in the Cross Enrollment program. The following procedures will apply if CSULB reopens the Cross Enrollment program in the future:
- Obtain the appropriate approvals from your home campus on the Cross Enrollment form.
- At CSULB, attend the first class session and ask the instructor if there is space available to enroll through cross enrollment.
- If space is available, obtain the Late Registration Request form from CSULB Enrollment Services (BH-101). Forms are available beginning the third week of instruction.
- Follow instructions for adding a class and obtain required approvals.
- Submit the approved Cross Enrollment form, approved Late Registration Request form, and $10 fee to CSULB Enrollment Services (BH-101) by the published deadlines.
- Approved Cross Enrollment requests are processed after CSULB’s Census date, usually at the end of the fourth week of instruction. You will be sent a copy of your official registration once your request is processed.
