The College of Liberal Arts (CLA) is at the heart of the university. It is where students spend most of their time during their first years on campus, exploring society, literature and communication. Our students have the unique opportunity to investigate social and individual behaviors, discover a variety of communications skills and delve into international and multicultural issues and belief systems of the past, present and future.
The university’s public mission is to provide educational opportunities for those who might not otherwise have the chance. The College of Liberal Arts is committed to this mission and to achieve this objective the College has pledged to increase the number of scholarship and study abroad opportunities for a greater number of our students, regardless of their economic circumstance. This action is imperative if we as a university wish to hold ourselves out to the community as an educational center dedicated to global learning and leadership. Our students must gain experience beyond the classroom and our national borders. With this knowledge in hand, CLA students will be well equipped to be successful professionals and leaders in the community.
There are additional needs in all 25 departments and programs within the College of Liberal Arts. For more information, please visit the College of Liberal Arts website.
