SOAR Overview

SOAR assists first-semester students as you begin your transition to life as a college student at California State University, Long Beach. All students are REQUIRED to complete the Pre-SOAR BeachBoard Course and participate in an Orientation Workshop, more commonly referred to the SOAR Virtual Orientation Workshop.

The Pre-SOAR BeachBoard Course introduces you to our campus community, its resources/services, university policies, and expectations of our community members. SOAR hopes by presenting these key topics you will have a better understanding of the university’s inclusive excellence, expectations of its community members, and how it supports your individual growth.

During the SOAR Virtual Orientation Workshop, you will learn more about campus life from current students, meet other incoming students who share the same major, and participate in activities. This workshop is approximately two-hours long.
