GARDASIL 9 VACCINE
The Gardasil 9 vaccine helps protect against the most common types of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection which cause most cases of cervical cancer and genital warts. The Gardasil 9 vaccine is given in three doses over six months.
The Gardasil 9 vaccine is approved for individuals up to age 45.
The Student Health Services participates in the Merck Vaccine Patient Assistance Program, which can provide the vaccine for free to eligible students.
In order to qualify to get the vaccine for free through the Merck Vaccine Patient Assistance Program, students must be:
- Age 19 to 45
- Uninsured (Family PACT is okay)
- Meet an income requirement of:
- $51,040 or less for individuals
- $68,960 or less for couples
- $104,800 or less for a family of 4
If you have health insurance or are under 19 years old, you do not qualify for the Merck Vaccine Patient Assistance Program.
If you have health insurance, you can get the vaccine through your primary care provider or at the Minute Clinic, who will bill your insurance. Visit www.minuteclinic.com to find a location.
If you are 18 years or younger and do not have health insurance, you can get the vaccine for free through the Vaccines for Children program at the Long Beach Health Department. To schedule an appointment, call (562) 470-4315.
If you do not qualify for the Merck Vaccine Patient Assistance Program, but would still like to get the Gardasil 9 vaccine at the Student Health Services, you can pay as a cash patient. The cost is approximately $222. + tax per shot for a total of $668.25.
