Parent & Family Orientation

PFO Office is Virtual Effective March 19, 2020

In light of the heightened concerns around COVID-19, PFO staff will work remotely until further notice. During this time, the office will not be open for any in-person services. Email is the most effective way to reach staff - Parent and Family Orientation. Please include your first and last name, phone number, email address, your student's ID number, and a brief description of your questions. Parent and Family Orientation provides special resources designed for the parents, family members, and supporters of our newly admitted students. In order to safeguard you and our community due to concerns around Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), PFO will offer its Summer 2020 services and resources completely online for free. PFO Online will provide virtual presentations introducing you to the university and available resources at Long Beach State, including:

  • Key university staff, faculty and administrators
  • The university’s academic requirements
  • Expectations of today’s college students
  • Strategies for supporting your student’s successful transition to college life
  • Vital university services and resources

  • There is no registration fee for the PFO Online Summer 2020 program.
