Crisis Assistance

Hours: 9 am 4 pm Monday to Friday as operation hours during the COVID-19 Pandemic

If you are speaking with a student who is in a crisis situation and this is someone you would have typically walked over to CAPS, please call us at 562-985-4001 with the student and ask to speak to the on-call counselor. 

Such circumstances may include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Extreme anxiety or panic
  • Extreme sadness
  • Death of a friend or loved one
  • Thoughts of self harm
  • Thoughts of harming someone else
  • Experiencing a traumatic event
  • Having odd or intrusive thoughts
