SPSS Workshops

In this exciting series of workshops, you’ll learn SPSS fundamentals, such as setting up databases and running frequency tables. From there, you’ll advance to the intermediate stage where you’ll learn how to compute new variables and run reports. In the advanced stage, you’ll frame important questions and run statistical analyses. Imagine having the results of the freshman survey, the diverse learning environments survey, or the National Survey of Student Engagement at your fingertips. Participants will be provided with detailed worksheets.

WASC Accreditation

As student affairs professionals, we are accountable for several of the standards listed in the WASC Accreditation Handbook. Participants in this workshop will learn about the standards, the criteria for reference, and WASC Core Competencies. We will also discuss our part in writing the Institutional Report.

Survey Design

Learn how to design questionnaires or improve existing ones. This workshop focuses on writing survey items, choosing scales, selecting samples, and administering online surveys.

Data Fellows

Adriana Angel, John Hamilton, Vu Mai, and Susan Platt, all members of the Assessment Team, are also participants in the two-year Data Fellows Program. In this workshop series, they’ll show you what they’ve learned during the first year, including navigating the CSU Dashboard and the Institutional Research & Assessment sites. They’ll talk about effective partnerships with Academic Affairs and how we can examine student success data more efficiently together.

Assessment Facilitation

Drop by for assistance with any of your assessment activities, such as program review preparation, student learning outcomes, surveys, e-portfolios, and assessment plans and reports. Bring along your assessment facilitator, your staff, a partner from Academic Affairs, or students who want to share their experiences. Also, let us help you with the Effective Assessments Guidebook that contains numerous assessment tips and activities you can do with your staff.

Measurement and Use of Rubrics

Learn the fundamentals of crunching numbers, looking for relationships, mining narrative data for themes, and using student affairs rubrics to assess student learning and achievement of goals in your programs.

Assessment Webinars & University Table Talks

We are combing the internet in search of the best assessment webinars we can find. Most are only an hour, and time well spent. We’ll also engage in discussions about the content of the webinars and how it’s relevant for us. Also, meet our partners from UCI and UCLA as we engage together in table talks around assessment.
