Weekly ESL Tutoring

* This program is best if you can commit to one or two hours of tutoring EVERY WEEK.

This one-on-one tutoring program will help you:

  • prepare for the Writing Proficiency Exam (WPE)
  • succeed in a Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR) and other writing-intensive courses
  • improve your general and academic English language skills.

What happens during the tutoring sessions?

During your first session, your tutor will help you:

  • identify your language and writing learning needs
  • set goals with you
  • and work with you to build strategies for improving your skills.

For the rest of the semester, you will learn and practice strategies to locate your speaking and writing errors and correct them on your own

You will see a gradual improvement of your language and writing skills as you begin to use these learning strategies in your language use daily.

We are very excited to help you gain the necessary skills to achieve your academic goals at CSULB!
