Academic Services and Campus Life

University Honors Program

The University Honors Program offers small discussion-based classes with diversely talented, high-achieving students; personalized academic advisement and guidance each semester; opportunities for a distinguished undergraduate record as one of fewer than 750 Honors students on campus; and the opportunity to complete an undergraduate thesis project typically in the area of the student's major. University Honors Students are eligible for President's Scholarships, the most prestigious merit-based scholarships awarded by CSULB. Normally, students should be in the upper ten percent of their high school classes, have strong ACT or SAT scores, and a GPA of 3.5 or higher. If not all criteria are met, applicants may be evaluated for admissions consideration by the Honors Program Director and Honors Council.
