Andrea Byers is a graduate of the Juilliard School, studying under the renowned pedagogue, Ivan Galamian. Her musical education has also included study with Carroll Glenn at the Eastman School of Music, as well as chamber music study with Josef Gingold and Donald Weilerstein at the Meadowmount School and the Aspen Music Festival.
Ms. Byers has performed as concertmaster of the California Chamber symphony led by conductor Henri Temianka. She served for six years as principal second violin of the Long Beach Symphony, and most recently, she served as assistant concertmaster of the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra. Ms. Byers also performs as a member of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra. Ms. Byers was a member of the UC Irvine music faculty from 1980-81 and 1992-93. She has served on the faculty of the Southern California Conservatory of Music since 1998 and served on the faculty of Idyllwild Arts in 2000.
