Masters Student
Geology Department CSULB
mccole72@gmail.com

Education

  • M.S. Geology CSULB (in progress)
  • B.S. Geology CSULB (2014)

Experiences

  • Internships at Southern California Coastal Water Research Project (SCCRWP) and Institute for Integrated Research in Materials Environments and Societies (IIRMES) monitoring surface water quality in San Gabriel River watershed.
  • Undergraduate research project studying coastal groundwater seeps and submarine groundwater discharge on Rapa Nui (Easter Island).

Interests

  • Aquifer hydraulics, fluid flow in fractured rock, submarine groundwater discharge, coastal aquifers, water resource management, contaminant hydrology

Current Research

  • I am using periodic hydraulic testing to characterize fractured rock aquifers. The main purpose of my research is to better understand concepts like flow
channelization and short circuiting, and to apply this understanding to geothermal energy production.
