State Paid Lessons Information

You must be enrolled in a large ensemble.

This must happen before you may enroll in lessons. Enroll in the large ensemble in which you were placed. Your total enrollment should be at least 12 units, including your lessons.

State Paid Lessons Deadlines

• Deadline to add or swap a class without approval
• Deadline to drop a class without receiving a W
• Deadline to drop and receive a refund for reduction in calculated charges

All changes must be completed in MyCSULB Student Center

During the third and fourth week of classes, approval of the class instructor and the department are required to add a class. Contact the instructor to get approval before submitting a Permission to Add request in MyCSULB Student Center.

Step-by-Step Enrollment Guide

The images below use Fall 2025 as an example. Be sure to pick your correct semester before you enter your class number. (You may click on these images to open them in a new window and enlarge them.)

Step 1:

Log into your student portal and click "Enroll" --> Semester (e.g. Fall 2026) --> Enter class number into designated box

Step 2:

Select the course and click "next" to add it to your cart

Step 3:

Once the course is in your enrollment cart click on the "Proceed to Step 2 of 3" button

Step 4:

Click on "Finish Enrolling"

Step 5:

Make sure you have a green check mark which indicates that you have successfully enrolled in your lessons
