Amy Ksandr is a freelance percussionist and timpanist in Los Angeles. Originally from Des Plaines, Illinois, Amy received her bachelor’s degree from DePaul University in Chicago. Amy then moved to LA to complete her master’s degree at USC, where she studied with Joseph Pereira and James Babor. Amy has been a frequent extra player with the LA Phil since 2018, going on 5 international tours with the orchestra and performing on 3 Grammy winning albums recorded by the orchestra. Amy also frequently plays with the San Diego Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, Santa Barbara Symphony, and others. Amy has been teaching percussion at CSULB since 2023.
