Chris Stoutenborough joined the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra as Second Clarinet in 2011. He performs frequently with orchestras across Southern California, including the Pacific Symphony, Los Angeles Opera, and Los Angeles Philharmonic. He has performed chamber music with Trio Céleste, Salastina Music Society, and his LACO colleagues. As a soloist, he has performed with the Colburn Zipper Orchestra and the New West Symphony. Chris can also be heard on many recordings for motion pictures, television, and commercials.

Chris is on the faculty at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music. He co-founded the Pasadena Conservatory Summer Clarinet Camp with his wife and fellow clarinetist, Laura.

Chris is the inventor of The Wind-o, an educational embouchure tool for wind and brass musicians. He has presented The Wind-o in masterclasses at the University of Michigan, Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Northwestern University, Rice University, University of Texas Austin, Michigan State University, and California State University, Fullerton.

Chris is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he studied with Yehuda Gilad and Michele Zukovsky, and was a recipient of the school’s Presidential Scholarship. He was a first prize winner of the Pasadena Instrumental Competition and received a Level 1 Award in the NFAA Arts Recognition and Talent Search. He attended high school at the Idyllwild Arts Academy, where he was named "Most Outstanding Music Student" in his graduating class. He has performed in several summer music festivals including the Aspen Music Festival, the National Repertory Orchestra, and the Tanglewood Music Center, where he was awarded the Gino B. Cioffi Memorial Prize for Outstanding Woodwind Performance.

When not making music, Chris enjoys reading books with his kids, Dean and Julie, and taking them on adventures. He enjoys making and eating pizza, and hiking with his family.
