Supporting Science Teaching Workshops

Each semester the department hosts Supporting Science Teaching (SST) workshops, a series of workshops aimed to support future science teachers, especially those pursuing a Multiple Subject Credential (K-6). Formerly known as the Association for Future Science Educators (AFSE) seminars, the hands-on sessions are led by educators from community institutions such as Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, the Audubon Center at Debs Park, and others, as well as local elementary teachers and CSULB faculty.

The SST workshops provide future teachers a space to build community with peers as well as develop comfort with and confidence in teaching science. Learn more about SST workshops.
