Mandatory Freshman Advising Workshop Signup

Deadline to register: April 4 at 5:00pm.

All CSULB freshmen are required to receive Mandatory Freshman Advising (MFA) during their first and second semester at CSULB. CNSM students must attend a freshman advising workshop facilitated by the CNSM Academic Advising Center in order to have their advising hold lifted.

Before you begin, here is what you'll need to complete the form:

Your Personal Information

Changing out of CNSM?

If you are planning to change your pre-major outside of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (CNSM), then you do not need to fill out this questionnaire. However, you must first contact us at to let us know of the change (please include your name and id number). After contacting us, you may need to contact the University Center for Undergraduate Advising (UCUA) to follow their instructions to have your freshman advising hold lifted.

Please Note:

  • Beach Pledge: Beach Pledge students need to register for a workshop prior to March 22.
  • The workshops will start on time and the presentation will take 50 minutes. The remaining time is reserved for questions. You are welcome to leave once the presentation is completed.
  • Failure to attend a Mandatory Freshman Advising (MFA) Workshop will impact your ability to register for the Fall 2018 semester.
  • Students who select the "Unable to Attend Sessions Listed" will not be seen until AFTER all the posted MFA Dates above. Please make any arrangements early in order to attend one of the posted dates and times if possible. Our office cannot guarantee that you will be seen prior to your registration date and time if you select the Unable to Attend Sessions Listed option.
