What is an Endowment?

An endowment creates a permanently invested fund that provides annual income to Camp Nugget. The funds can be used to support staffing, scholarships, equipment and other Camp Nugget needs. There are many ways you can make a contribution to the endowment either today or as part of your estate plan.

Vision for Camp Nugget Endowment

The Camp Nugget Endowment will assure that children and university students experience the same high-quality services in the future. An endowment is a permanent fund at the University. Earnings from the endowment provide annual support for the program in perpetuity. Camp Nugget needs a minimum endowment of $500,000. While the endowment is building, annual support is critically needed.

Ongoing support is necessary to maintain exemplary services for Camp Nugget’s participants. We also provide need-based scholarships available for families in need to ease their financial burden.

Camp Nugget prides itself in providing training for Kinesiology students who are working toward their APE Add Authorization (APEAA) Teaching Credential. Camp Nugget also provides work and leadership training through our Junior Counselor program, which comprise of Camp Nugget alumni that work closely with senior staff. The impact of Camp Nugget on children, counselors, and staff has been far-reaching and impactful over four decades.

What can an Endowment do?

Your gift may be designated for a specific purpose. You may choose to support a Camp Nugget staff position, scholarships or other needs. You can make your gift in your own name or in honor of another person. Our staff can help you create the structure and documentation that will allow a legacy of remembrance for you and your loved ones.

Below is a glimpse of the costs associated with running Camp Nugget:

  • One assistant director/swimming instructor cost $2,000
  • One faculty member camp director cost $5,000

Camp Nugget’s success has been due to the generous support from our volunteers, staff, and funders. We invite you to help endow Camp Nugget to help ensure the continuation of this program.
