Dr. Abdelhamid is the Director of MS in information Systems program and the advisor of the Business Analytics certificate. Dr. Abdelhamid’s research is focused on issues of healthcare analytics, information privacy, and cyber security. His research and publications have attracted media attention. For example, he was interviewed by Reuters and the Long Beach Post, and cited by Huffington Post. His recent online game addiction paper was highlighted by neuroscience news. Dr. Abdelhamid currently serves an associate editor for the Journal of Electronic Commerce Research (JECR). He also served as a chair of the Healthcare Data Analytics mini-track for Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) in 2018, 2019, and 2020. In addition, he had served as an associate editor of the Healthcare track for the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) 2018 in San Francisco (most elite conference in information systems) and a session chair for INFORMS Annual meeting 2019 and 2020. In his free time, Mohamed enjoys playing soccer, watching soccer and football games, watching survivor reality show, playing table tennis, and listening to Coldplay music.
