2. Courses Taught

Professor Schmidt's teaching activities are concentrated in U.S. racial and ethnic politics, public policy, and in political theory. Click here to see syllabi for all his courses.

3. Research Interests and Publications

Professor Schmidt's research and publications center on ethnic and racial politics in the United States and comparatively.  He is especially active in work on language policy conflict in the United States, on the incorporation of immigrants (both in the U.S., and comparatively), and on Latino politics in the United States.
