Project Title: Transitional Thinking, Transformational Leadership

The original project was designed when Cyrus Parker-Jeannette was serving as Associate Dean, and was entitled Recruitment, Retention and The Achievement Gap, designed to address student success issues in the College of the Arts (COTA). During the span of the Cohort I Leadership Fellows Program, Parker-Jeannette was appointed as Dean of COTA. Therefore, this project was folded into a broader and longer-term two-pronged project that is a three-year strategic plan for the COTA, aligned with the university strategic plan and in which student success strategies are included and the second prong which will result in a monograph that identifies and chronicles experiences, observations, strategies and holistic approaches for successful and healthy academic leadership.

Summer 2016 is dedicated to the first prong of the project and will lead to a strategic plan that will be presented to a new cohort of COTA Department Chairs and Directors for consultation and feedback, with plan completion during early Fall 2016 and implementation for 2016 – 2019.
