CSULB’s Vice President of University Relations and Development and CEO of the CSULB 49er Foundation, Andrea Taylor earned her Master of Science in Psychology at CSULB in 1983. She is responsible for the overall management of the university’s fundraising efforts and oversees the alumni relations and public affairs/publications operations on the campus. She is leading the university in its first comprehensive campaign. To date, in the quiet phase, more than $123 million has been raised. During her tenure she has significantly increased fundraising totals and the university’s visibility. In 2009, Taylor’s division received the CASE Circle of Excellence Award for Outstanding Performance. Other awards and honors include Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi.
Previously, at the University of California, Irvine, Taylor was executive director of development for health sciences and was appointed assistant vice chancellor for UCI’s $1 billion campaign. Prior to her work at UCI, she was a development director for the College of Health and Human Services at CSULB.
She is a member of CSULB’s Alumni Association, President’s Associates and Women and Philanthropy. Currently, she serves as the chair of the CSU Vice Presidents for Advancement Council and as vice chair of the CSULB Foundation.
