Summer Jazz Picnic
Friday, July 21, 2017
6:30 – 9:30 pm (Gates open at 6pm)


Bring your own picnic basket and enjoy a magical evening of jazz. Swing to vocal renditions by Renee Grizzell and Peggy Duquesnel under the stars at the beautiful Japanese Garden. This talented duet will accompany themselves with flute and keyboard. A cash bar will be available, no BYOB please! Catered Japanese bento boxes available for pick up on the day of the event. Make a wish to be carried up to the heavens in the breeze as we celebrate Tanabata, the Star Festival.

Parties of 5 or 8 can reserve their own tables. Smaller parties will share tables as space permits. Complimentary parking in Lot #16 across from the Garden

Want to learn more about the EBM Japanese Garden, Japanese culture, and get involved in your community? Work side-by-side with CSULB students to lead groups through the Garden, inform the public about Garden events and programs, and sell Garden merchandise. Participants will enjoy monthly presentations to expand their knowledge of Japanese culture in our new volunteer series called The Japanese Garden: Where Cultures Meet.
