Staff Day Set for March 23

This year's Staff Day on Wednesday, March 23, begins at 7 a.m. with a fun run/walk around campus starting at entrance of Frog's Gym at The Pyramid. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Bookstore, you can find out what fellow staff members do in their spare time, what else is happening on campus or check out what the outside vendors have to offer.

Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Jim Long and Mary providing music. The meal will provide a choice of Mexican meat or veggie lasagna, Spanish rice, black beans, salad, chips and salsa, cookie and beverage. Tickets are only $5 and also include a free raffle ticket for great door prizes. All lunches must be purchased by Wednesday, March 16, since no tickets will be sold at the event. Tickets are available from members of Staff Council or the Special Events Committee. Several departments will have bake sales for those who want desserts.

Long- and short-sleeve Staff Day T-shirts are being sold in the University Bookstore, with a 10 percent staff discount.

Door prizes will be awarded during the lunchtime beginning at 12:15 p.m. and raffle tickets will be available at the event (one per person). Outstanding Staff nominees will be recognized at 12:30 p.m.

Flyers with all of the details will be mailed to all staff members in March. To participate in the craft/vendor area, contact Stafford Cox at 562/985-7801 or at by Monday, March 21. If you have questions, contact Bob Rodgers at 562/985-7853 or Nancy Green at 562/985-7854.
