Published: March 6, 2017

On Friday, April 21, the Forty-Niner Shops at CSULB will host the Ninth Annual Bowling for Books Scholarship Fundraiser at Cal Bowl in Lakewood. The bowling tournament is a part of its annual campaign to help raise money for textbook scholarships.

To date, the event has raised more than $600,000, providing over 900 students with textbook scholarships. This year, the goal is to raise $100,000 and award an additional 200 students with a textbook scholarship.

The event will begin with registration from 1-2 p.m., followed by bowling from 2-4 p.m. and an awards reception from 4:30-5 p.m.

All bowlers—students, staff, faculty and community members—are encouraged to solicit donations on behalf of the scholarship campaign. At the event, each bowler will receive three games, free shoe rental, a commemorative T-shirt, hosted refreshments, an awards reception, raffle and prizes. Registration deadline is Monday, April 17.
