Grenot-Scheyer Heads To CSU

After a highly competitive national search, Marquita Grenot-Scheyer has been appointed as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Teacher Education and Public School Programs for the California State University Office of the Chancellor. Her appointment will become effective Aug. 3.

Grenot-Scheyer is currently the dean of the College of Education at the CSULB and also serves on a number of state and national educational bodies representing both the CSU and CSULB, including the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) Board of Directors. Grenot-Scheyer is also the project director for the Math Science Teacher Initiative at CSULB.

Prior to her current role as dean, she served as associate dean for Graduate Studies and Research at CSULB and has previously held a number of leadership positions at CSU Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Grenot-Scheyer earned her Ph.D. in special education in 1990 from the Joint Doctoral Program at the University of California, Los Angeles and the California State University, Los Angeles. She earned her M.A. in education and B.A. in psychology from California State University, Los Angeles.

Grenot-Scheyer will serve as a member of the Academic and Student Affairs Leadership Team at the California State University Office of the Chancellor.
