Signup For Spring OLLI

Registration for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSULB for the spring session begins Saturday, March 5, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the OLLI classroom/office located in the CSULB Human Services and Design Building [HS&D], Room 101, near the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and East University Drive. After that date, registration can be done by either mail or in person in the OLLI office, which is open from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Parking for the March 5 registration event is available in Lot 11 with an OLLI permit or by paying at a meter or kiosk.

The spring session will run from Monday, April 11 through Monday, June 6.

New course topics include Eight Movie Detectives, Keys to Clearing Clutter, Why James Baldwin?, WHODUNIT?, Big Band Swing Era, and the Coen Brothers Film Festival. Returning this session will be Ukulele, LA Opera, Conversational French, Watercolor Painting and The Recorder Consort. For those looking to improve their health and fitness, OLLI offers archery, bowling, Not Your Daughter’s Yoga and longevity stick. The activity classes are held in the LifeFit Center on the CSULB Campus.

OLLI computer classes are conducted in a 12-seat state-of-the-art PC and Mac equipped lab by skilled instructors, also on the CSULB campus. New computer classes this fall will be Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and Buy and Sell Online. Classes will be offered Monday through Thursday.

Currently, OLLI locations include the HS&D Building on campus, rooms 101 and 119; OLLI Pine Avenue at 737 Pine Ave., Suite 202; OLLI Leisure World, 13533 Seal Beach Blvd. in Seal Beach; and the Albert Jewish Community Center, 3801 East Willow in Long Beach.

OLLI at CSULB’s annual membership fee of $40 covers the winter, spring, summer and fall sessions and is pro-rated for the spring and summer sessions at $20. Tuition is $10 per lecture class, and $35 per for eight-week and $20 for four-week computer classes. Parking permits are available for a fee.
