OLLI Winter Registration Begins

Registration for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSULB for the winter session will begin Saturday, Dec. 5, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in person in the OLLI classroom located in the CSULB Human Services and Design Building [HS&D], Room 100, near the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and East University Drive. After Dec. 5, registration can be done by mail or at the OLLI office, which is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The winter session runs from Jan. 11 through March.

OLLI is offering a number of lecture classes this winter, including the following new topics: 3-D Projects, Boomers Retirement Workshop, Irish Movies, The Bible as Literature, Seal Beach and Los Alamitos, and Basic Tarot for Fun. Returning this session will be Ukulele All Levels, Foundations of Investing, Play Reading Circle and Advanced Watercolor Painting. For those looking to improve their health and endurance, OLLI offers Basketball: American Game, Tai Chi Chih and Longevity Stick. The fitness classes will be held in the Life Fitness Center on the CSULB campus, rooms 107 and 110. OLLI computer classes are conducted in a 12-seat state-of-the-art PC- and Mac-equipped lab by skilled instructors, also on campus. A new computer class this winter will be Intro to Windows 10, Excel 2013.

OLLI logoOLLI currently has four convenient locations for classes—HS&D Building on the CSULB campus, rooms 101 and 119; OLLI Pine Avenue at 737 Pine Avenue, Suite 202; OLLI Leisure World 13533 Seal Beach Boulevard in Seal Beach; and at the Albert Jewish Community Center at 3801 East Willow Street in Long Beach.

OLLI at CSULB’s annual membership fee of $40 covers the winter, spring, summer and fall sessions and is pro-rated for the spring and summer sessions at $20. Tuition is $10 per lecture class and $35 for eight-week computer classes and $20 per four-week computer classes. Parking permits are available for a fee.
