Women & Philanthropy

Published: September 15, 2015

Now going into its 17th year, CSULB’s Women & Philanthropy has awarded more than $318,000 to students who have either taken a break from college (usually due to hardship) or needed support to continue their undergraduate research projects.

Women & Philanthropy inspires and engages women to support the university through the funding and selection of scholarships for students, men and women, who need financial help.

Founded in 1998, the group recognizes students who have demonstrated a commitment to academic success and intellectual curiosity. Through scholarships, members support re-entry students, help expand the boundaries of undergraduate research, ensure a pipeline of highly qualified professionals and make students more competitive in today’s global market.

In addition to raising funds for scholarships, members contribute to the personal growth of students, serve as mentors and are active members of advisory boards.

To find out how to become involved with the organization or would like to attend its membership recruitment reception on Thursday, Nov. 5, call 562/985-2800 or e-mail
