Faculty Supper Club Held Sept. 29

Published: September 15, 2015

The next Faculty Supper Club event, open to CSULB faculty and emeriti faculty only, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 5-7 p.m. in the Karl W. E. Anatol Conference Center in the Academic Services building.

The guest speaker will be Computer Engineering and Computer Science’s Bob Ward, whose presentation is titled “The Arduino and CSULB-A Match Made in Heaven.” He will discuss how in the early 1970s CSULB had $20,000 desktop computers that could collect, process and output large amounts of data in a relatively short period of time, while today we have $25 computers that can collect, process and output significantly larger amounts of data in an exceptionally shorter period of time. In this presentation he will show the evolution of these computers at CSULB. In addition, Ward will have students on hand to discuss some of the projects they have created to show the power of computers, including 3D printers.

Cost to attend is $25 (make checks payable to CSULB) and includes a dinner buffet. R.S.V.P. by Tuesday, Sept. 22 by e-mailing Lori Triana or calling 562/985-2351.
