Summer OLLI Signup

Registration for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSULB for the summer session, which began May 30, and can be done by either mail or in person in the OLLI Office located in the CSULB Human Services and Design Building (HS&D), Room 100, near the corner of Palo Verde Avenue and East University Drive. The office is open from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. for registration. Summer session will run from June 26 through Aug. 29.

OLLI is offering a number of lecture classes including new topics—History of Rock and Roll, Health Science and Health Care, Cancer: Causes and Detection, 17th Century Ireland, CSU Sculpture Collection and From Absolutism to Republic. Returning this session will be Ukulele Beginning and Advanced, Writer’s Tool Box, Travel Without Luggage, Watercolor Painting, along with Write, Edit, Re-write, Publish. For individuals looking to improve their health and endurance, OLLI offers Tai Chi Chih and Longevity Stick. All the fitness classes will be held in the campus’ Life Fitness Center rooms 107 and 110. OLLI computer classes are conducted in a 12-seat state-of-the art PC- and Mac-equipped lab by skilled instructors. New this summer will be Click Start Your Geneology and Powerpoint 2013.

There are four locations where classes are held–HS&D Building on the CSULB campus, rooms 101 and 119; OLLI Pine Avenue at 737 Pine Avenue, Suite 202 in Long Beach; OLLI Leisure World 13533 Seal Beach Boulevard in Seal Beach; and the Albert Jewish Community Center, 3801 East Willow in Long Beach.

OLLI at CSULB’s annual membership fee of $40 covers the winter, spring, summer and fall sessions and is pro-rated for the spring and summer sessions at $20. Tuition is $10 per lecture class and $35 per computer class. Parking permits are available for a fee.
