Jose Moreno, Chicano and Latino Studies, co-presented an invited pre-conference workshop titled “Bridging the Benefits of General Education and Making Excellence Inclusive” at the Association of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) annual General Education and Assessment Conference in Kansas City, Mo. The session was co-presented with Tia Brown McNair, senior director for Students Success—AAC&U.

Julie Van Camp, Philosophy, has been elected to a five-year term as executive director and secretary-treasurer of the American Society for Aesthetics. She published three essays in the new Second Edition of the Oxford Encyclopedia of Aesthetics (Oxford, 2014) on “The Ontology of Dance,” “National Endowment for the Arts: History” and “National Endowment for the Arts: Controversies.” She also refereed manuscripts for the Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism, Dance Chronicle, Dance Research Journal and the University of Chicago Press.

Frederick Wegener, English, has agreed to serve as an associate editor of The Complete Works of Edith Wharton, a scholarly edition to be published, both in print and online, in 28 volumes by Oxford University Press.
