Homecoming Set For Nov. 15

CSULB Homecoming 2014, with the theme of “Life is a Highway,” will take place on Saturday, Nov. 15, and staff and faculty members can attend for free as a guest of their vice president and bring guests for only $5 each.

The Alumni Association will host the Alumni and Friends tent with the campus community, alumni and friends of the university invited. A barbecue buffet will feature a selection of sliders, nacho bar and a sundae bar for dessert from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Free activities for the whole family take place at the homecoming site in Lot 13 and include a henna artist, photo booth, airbrush tattoos and a caricature artist. Attendees can also go on the hurricane ride and cheer on the Red Bull chariot race teams in the student tailgate zone. In addition, booths featuring the Mobile Science Museum, University Art Museum and the Colleges of Health and Human Services and Engineering will be available to visit. Many club sports will also be on hand doing demonstrations.

Shuttle buses leave every 15 minutes for campus open houses including CSI@CSULB, Shark Lab, University Art Museum, Science Learning Center and Marine Biology Labs, Green Houses and the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden.

Game ticket packages are available and include the meal and a ticket for the men’s basketball game vs. northern California rival the San Francisco State Gators that tips off at 4 p.m. That same ticket stub will get individuals free admission to the women’s volleyball match versus UC Santa Barbara at 7 p.m.
