Jewels of the Night Set for May 16

The 49er Athletic Club will host the 15th annual 49er Jewels of the Night auction, dinner and dance in The Walter Pyramid at CSULB on Saturday, May 16. The theme of the event is “Olympic Gold,” where current and past Olympians have been invited to attend the event which benefits student athlete scholarships.

Also, the second annual Diamond Award will be presented to long-time Athletic Department employee Pat West, who recently retired. This award honors distinguished individuals from the community who have made a major impact on 49er Athletics.

Among the festivities of the evening are tastes from more than 50 area eateries, hundreds of unique silent auction items, a VIP “Live” Auction Lounge and live entertainment. Auction sections include health, beauty and fitness, sports and memorabilia, retail, entertainment, culinary and wine, travel and 49er Athletics.

Tickets are $100 per person in advance and $150 at the door. Entry into the VIP Lounge adds $25 to the cost of a ticket. Purchase a table of 10 for $1,000 or for $1,250, the latter including the VIP “Live” Auction Lounge entry. The admission price includes dinner, drinks, entertainment, dancing and a chance to bid on an array of auction items. The evening’s recommended attire is casual party beach wear.

The event schedule is silent auction, 5-7:30 p.m.; VIP “Live” Auction Lounge, 5:30-7:30 p.m., with bidding beginning at 6:30 p.m.; dinner and live music from 7:30 p.m.-close.
