UAM, Art Department Present INSIGHTS 2009

The University Art Museum (UAM) and the Department of Art at CSULB will present the annual student exhibition, INSIGHTS 2009, beginning Thursday, May 14, through Sunday, May 31. The exhibit will feature work by both graduate and undergraduate students.

Juried by the Department of Art faculty members and distinguished alumni, the exhibition highlights work by students in programs including art education, ceramics, drawing and painting, fiber, graphic design, illustration/animation, metal, photography, printmaking and wood.

The Department of Art will present the Student Award Ceremony on May 14 at 5 p.m. in the Horn Center to honor students who have excelled in their media. This ceremony is open to students, parents, faculty and staff at CSULB, as well as the general public. The reception for the artists will be held in the University Art Museum immediately following the ceremony.

On Tuesday, May 19, UAM @ Noon will host Gallery Talk with an artist from 12:15-1 p.m. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday 12-5 p.m. and Thursdays, 12-8 p.m. The UAM is closed Mondays and university holidays. The UAM entrance fee is $4 for adults and children over 12 years of age, but is free to UAM members, CSULB students, staff, and faculty.
