Reserve Services

The reserves collection consists of items that instructors place either in the library (traditional) or online (electronic) for CSULB student's use. These items include:

  • Books, book chapters, or media owned by the library or instructor
  • Electronic copies of journal, magazine and newspaper articles
  • Electronic copies of instructor authored materials (practice exams, problem sets, course notes, syllabi, etc.)
  • eBooks
  • URL Links

How to Use Course Reserves

Copyright and Fair Use

CSULB Library strictly enforces fair use and copyright rules for all materials. Since the purpose of course reserve material is to "supplement" and not "replace" course materials, a limit of 25 items per course is enforced by Reserve Services. Reserve Services monitors all materials placed on course reserves and may restrict access if fair use or copyright guidelines are violated.

Need Help?

If you're still having trouble accessing an electronic reserve, use the Technical Problem Report Form. For general help, contact Reserve Services.
