If an item (book or media materials) you have checked out is recalled, a recall notice will be mailed to you, and the due date on your recalled item may change. The new due date will be indicated on the recall notice. If an item that has been recalled is not returned to the library by the new due date, recall charges will accrue in addition to overdue fines.
CSULB students, faculty, and staff may place recalls on books or media that are currently checked out. A book that is checked out may be recalled by the Library after the user has had it for 21 days.
If the item you want is checked out, you have the option to:
SEARCH AND HOLD
CSULB students, faculty, and staff may place a "Search and Hold" on an item that is listed in COAST as "CHECK SHELF" but can not be located in the stacks. Search and Hold forms are available at the Circulation Desk and at the Reference Desk. You must supply the call number, author, and title of the book. You will be notified by email or U.S. mail when the book is located. The book will be held for 10 days at the Circulation Desk. If the item is found to be missing from the collection, you may request through either LINK+ (books only) or ILLiad (books and media).
