I have been a member of the campus community for 17 years and a resident of Long Beach for 30 years. As a staff member, as a parent and as a community member, I take a great deal of pride in the work we do here on the campus and the impact on the local community.
Before becoming an assistant vice president in student affairs, I served as the university's bursar for 15 years. As you can imagine, I heard a lot of stories during that time… sad situations and circumstances involving students. I wanted to help but couldn't because the money is so restricted in how it can be used.
As faculty and staff members at this institution, we make up a group of some 4,000 individuals. Collectively, it really is true that no amount is too small, and every dollar can make a difference.
I declare my commitment to putting students first. Supporting the Campaign for CSULB is another way to make a difference in the lives of our students and add to the legacy of this institution and our careers.
