The Women’s and Gender Equity Center and Not Alone @ The Beach aims to provide programming that promotes awareness and prevention of sexual assault, rape, dating/domestic violence, and stalking. Programs include Healthy Relationship workshops, Denim Day, Clothesline project, Take Back The Night, Human Trafficking, Stalking/Cyberstalking, Consent.

Break the Silence Fair (Clothesline Project),

April 5th, 10-2:00pm, Speaker's Platform- The Clothesline Project is a unique display of t-shirts designed by survivors that encourage women to break the silence on violence against women.

Health and Wellness Event, April 10th, TBA

Take Back the Night, April 5, 6-9:30

6pm @ Brotman Hall- Maxson Plaza- Rally with students, staff, and faculty in a peaceful march advocating for the elimination of dometic violence, sexual assault and relationshop violence.

7Pm @ Anatol Center for interACT performance followed by Speakout: Come to Speak Out to hear from those who have indirectly and directly affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and relationship violence.

Event Description

Snow White, the Prince and Intimate Partner Violence

DATE: Monday, October 10th

Time: 5-7 p.m.

Location: USU Ballroom

This presentation will focus on the impact of what we learn as children and the adults we become and the beliefs we develop. Fairytales are prime movers in regard to the development of these beliefs and the focus will include one of our beloved fairy tales, 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' (Disney version). 

Featured Speaker: Alyce LaViolette

Alyce LaViolette is a trauma informed psychotherapist, lecturer at CSULB on gender and power, and expert witness for domestic violence cases.


CORA (free film screening and dialogue with Director) Based on a true story!

DATE: Monday, October 17th

Time: 5-7 p.m.
Location: USU Beach Auditorium

This event will feature a short 30-minute student-produced film followed by Q&A with Director Kevin Maxwell and the subject of his story, his grandmother.


Cora (Latarsha Rose of 'Hunger Games'), an African American woman living in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1966, must not only fight the racism of local police force but survive the violent rages of her jealous husband (Joe Holt) while raising her son and managing her business, Cora's Place.

"3-D Thursdays" Pop-up Resource Table

The Women's and Gender Equity Center's Campaign Not Alone @ The Beach (Sexual Assault Advocate Support & Services) in collaboration with the Student Health Services Center's ' PAUSE (Bystander Intervention Program) will have a weekly pop-up resource table at various locations on campus each Thursday starting Sept. 22nd and ending on Dec 1st, 2016 fall semester.

"3-D Thursdays" tabling events highlight Sexual Assault Advocate support & Services on campus as well as highlight PAUSE, (Prevention Awareness Uniting Students with Empowerment) a Bystander Intervention Program.

Join us for FREE information, give-aways, and snacks (while they last) each Thursday, 11 am - 1 pm.
