The Department of Club Sports and Recreation strives to improve the quality of campus life for CSULB students, faculty/staff, and community members by providing a wide range of recreational (11 dance and recreation clubs), competitive clubs (31 sports clubs), fitness classes, educational programs and open recreation programs.
Some of the club teams which compete against other universities or in leagues include:
A variety of fitness classes are open to CSULB students, faculty, staff and community members to join. Classes include deep water aerobics, golf, hatha yoga, martial arts, Pilates, sailing lessons, and more. Participants can join any time and have the option to pay either monthly or per class.
A variety of sports facilities are open to CSULB students, faculty, staff and community members for open play. When not reserved by physical education classes, intercollegiate athletics, club practices or outside clubs and organizations, the facilities are available on a first-come basis. These facilities include the West Gym, East Gym, swimming pool, track and fields. With a current CSULB photo ID, students may also check out available sports equipment for daily use.
