Preparing for SOAR

 
 

We're excited to have you join the Beach Family. Your academic and social transition to life at The Beach begins when you start with the Online Pre-SOAR Program and it continues when attend your On-Campus SOAR Workshop. Watch the video above – Preparing for SOAR – for a complete list of items and reminders. In addition, all students attending SOAR should bring the following items to their workshop:

  • Your SOAR Confirmation Email
  • A printed copy of your Online Freshman Advising Survey (freshmen only)
  • Any form of Photo ID (state-issued ID, driver's license, passport, high school/college ID)
  • Your nine-digit Beach ID number (student ID number)
  • Comfortable shoes

On-Campus Freshman Workshops

Freshmen should bring copies of any test results including SAT, ACT, International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), Early Assessment Program (EAP), Chemistry Placement Test (CPT), and/or ALEKS results (Calculus placement). If you’ve earned credit from a community college or another university, please bring a printed copy OR have electronic access to your unofficial transcripts. Finally, bring with you a printed copy of your Online Freshman Advising Survey, which was emailed to you by Qualtrics. On-Campus Transfer Workshops

Transfer students should bring printed copies or have electronic access to unofficial college transcripts from all previous institutions. Be sure these documents include any work in progress.
