Favorite part of being a SOAR Advisor: Seeing the faces of students, with a sense of accomplishment, light up with joy and happiness when I tell them, “Good Morning! Welcome to Long Beach State!”

Favorite part of being a SOAR Advisor: Challenging myself to do a job that requires me to conquer my biggest fear: Public Speaking. In doing so, I have grown and have been able to help students with their adjustment to The Beach and this has made me more excited about my own college experience.

Favorite part of being a SOAR Advisor: Whether it be sharing a tradition they’ve never heard or helping them create a manageable, first-semester schedule, my favorite part is knowing I can make a positive impact on a new student’s transition to The Beach.
